During Term 2, we are exploring the concept of extinction. We are examining a range of digital texts, film and print to discover how and why animals throughout Earth's history have become extinct.
We will begin our unit of work by exploring theories on dinosaur extinction, before examining more recent events such as the loss of Tasmanian tigers and western black rhinos as well as endangered species.
Our literacy unit will look at how animals are portrayed in fiction texts as having character traits similar to our own. In Writing, we will create texts that are designed to entertain our audience as well as creating our own information texts.
